Voting Question: I'm building a gaming PC. Are these good parts to get?

    11th July 2009

Alright, so I decided I’m going to build a new gaming PC. I went on Newegg and picked out the things I think I should get. I am on a pretty low budget, so these are probably the best I can get. If you can tell me anything I should change that won’t make the price too much higher but improve the performance, please let me know.

    Here are the specs:

Broadway Com Corp 939PL-BLACK Steel ATX Mid Tower Computer Case Okia ATX 550W Power Supply – $49.99

    Western Digital Caviar Black WD1001FALS 1TB 7200 RPM SATA 3.0Gb/s 3.5″ Internal Hard Drives – $99.99

    XFX HD-485X-ZDFC Radeon HD 4850 1GB 256-bit GDDR3 PCI Express 2.0 x16 HDCP Ready CrossFire Supported Video Card – $124.99

Sony Optiarc Black IDE DVD-ROM Drive Model DDU1678A – $18.49

    G.SKILL 4GB (2 x 2GB) 240-Pin DDR2 SDRAM DDR2 1066 (PC2 8500) Dual Channel Kit Desktop Memory Model F2-8500CL5D-4GBPK – $49.99

    AMD Phenom II X4 940 Deneb 3.0GHz Socket AM2+ 125W Quad-Core Black Edition Processor Model HDZ940XCGIBOX

    and

    BIOSTAR TA790GXB A2+ AM2+/AM2 AMD 790GX ATX AMD Motherboard

    for 209.99

    Total is: 553.44 free shipping

So if anyone could tell me some cheap/good changes, please let me know. Or just tell me what you think about the setup (if it’s good whatnot)
