Resolved Question: General help for tourisim in Phuket?

I’m going with my girlfriend to Thailand and I just wanted to know a few things. Preferably from people living there as they would know the most current information.
Can I as a tourist hire a motorbike to use or is it illegal. And if I can would I require any form of licence.
As a chef I’m also untreated in buying some cooking equipment in Thailand. Espitally knives and cleavers. I am aware of Thailand own brand. ‘kiwi brand’ however I have heard from many many co-workers that they lack quality.
I was thinking more of the cook wear that seem to last the people for ages. The old style. Blemished steel look, wooden Handels. The works.
These knives are usually hand made and always seem to last forever. ( for anyone thinking of it, I am extremely aware of how to care for knives, much more than the average chef.)
I was looking for help on where I would buy such knives and other cutting instruments for cooking and also a price range.
Also a hire rate for motorbikes would also be appreciated.
